Semarang, September 18, 2025 – Students from the Industrial Chemical Engineering Technology (TRKI) Program, Vocational School of Diponegoro University (UNDIP), achieved the title of Grand Champion along with five awards at the National Economic Events X Edutalk Fair Competition (NETs X EFC) 2025, held at Jenderal Soedirman University, Purwokerto, on September 6–7, 2025.
The TRKI student team representing UNDIP consisted of Maya Qisthina Gaissani, Sigit Pramana, and Femas Wisnu Abby, under the guidance of supervising lecturer Yusuf Ma’rifat Fajar Azis, S.T., M.T., with strong support from the Head of the TRKI Program, Dr. Mohamad Endy Julianto, S.T., M.T.
In this competition, the TRKI team presented a solution addressing global food safety issues by introducing an eco-friendly bioindicator to detect food safety. The tool was designed as an efficient, affordable, and easily applicable early detection system for the food supply chain, combining food technology with the principles of sustainability. The innovation also supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in the areas of food security and public health.
NETs X EFC is a prestigious event in the field of economics organized by the Student Association of Economics and Development Studies (Himesbang). In 2025, the competition collaborated with the educational startup Eduhub Incubator, adopting the theme “ASEAN Economic Renaissance: Catalyzing Multi-Sectoral Collaboration Through Youth Empowerment and Innovation.” The competition featured two main categories: Essay and Business Plan Competition.
The achievements earned—Gold Medal, Bronze Medal, two Best Idea awards, and Best Poster—established TRKI UNDIP as one of the top-performing teams among participants from leading universities across Indonesia.
Dr. Mohamad Endy Julianto emphasized that this accomplishment demonstrates how vocational students excel not only in industrial practice but also in critical thinking, academic writing, and creating technology-based solutions. He highlighted that determination and strong support are the key foundations for students to reach excellence. “This achievement proves that great dreams, hard work, and strong academic support can lead students to the peak of success,” he remarked.
With this milestone, UNDIP’s Vocational School reinforces its excellence, competitiveness, and ability to deliver tangible contributions in addressing industrial challenges while fulfilling societal needs. This success also fosters the spirit of “UNDIP Bermartabat” and “UNDIP Bermanfaat,” in line with the vision of Diktisaintek Berdampak.
