Semarang, September 24, 2025 – The Vocational School of Diponegoro University (UNDIP), through its Monitoring Team, conducted a visit to Japan to meet with three Vocational School students — Ariessy Aprilia, Rachma Aprilia, and Yasinta Febrianti — along with four other UNDIP students from different faculties currently undertaking internship programs. The meeting took place at the lobby of Seawood Hotel, Miyakojima, from September 15 to 20, 2025. The visit was led by the Dean of the Vocational School, Prof. Dr. Ir. Budiyono, accompanied by the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities (FIB), Prof. Dr. Alamsyah, as well as Sri Wahyu Istana Trahutami, S.S., M.Hum. (Head of the Applied Foreign Languages Program), and Budi Mulyadi, S.Pd., M.Hum. (Lecturer of Japanese Language and Culture). The meeting was warm and emotional, felt strongly by both sides.

UNDIP’s internship program in Japan runs for one year, with participants coming from the Vocational School, Faculty of Humanities, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, and other faculties. Through this program, students develop professional maturity, discipline, cross-cultural competence, and industry networking, preparing graduates to compete globally.

Dean of the Vocational School, Prof. Budiyono, highlighted the importance of building a “READY” mindset (Respectful, Ethical/Integrity, Adaptive, and Resilient) as a foundation for global competitiveness. “With these attitudes, we will be more confident and comfortable working anywhere in the world,” he explained.

During the visit, one student expressed heartfelt gratitude for the team’s presence. “I never expected the lecturers to come here. It feels like meeting my parents,” the student said.

This internship program provides students with opportunities to strengthen professional competencies, cross-cultural understanding, and industry connections. The Monitoring Team’s visit to Japan reflects UNDIP’s commitment to ensuring students gain the maximum benefit from their experience while reinforcing the Vocational School’s mission to prepare graduates ready to compete on a global stage. The heartfelt moments shared during the visit also strengthened the bond between the university and its students, showcasing UNDIP Vocational School’s genuine care for the growth and potential of its students.
